From the Orphanage to the Workshop: Jean-Paul's Story

Jean-Paul arrived at GAMENCAM with nothing but determination. Raised in a state orphanage until the age of 16, he spent two years doing odd jobs before a community worker referred him to our program. "I didn't know anything about engines," he admits. "But the instructors were patient. They showed us everything, from how to hold a wrench properly to diagnosing complex faults." Six months later, Jean-Paul completed his auto mechanics certification. Within three weeks he was hired by a reputable garage in Yaoundé, earning a steady income for the first time in his life. "GAMENCAM didn't just teach me a skill," he says. "They gave me a reason to believe in myself."
